It’s been over eight years sinceSherri Papiniclaimed to have been kidnapped while on a morning jog in her Redding, Calif., neighborhood.
In Nov. 2016, Sherri’s husband, Keith Papini, discovered his wife was missing when he returned home from work, and she was nowhere to be found. With her car in the driveway and their two young children never having been picked up from daycare, Keith knew something was wrong.

After a seven-week trial, Lori wasfound guiltyin May 2023 of murdering her two children —Joshua “J.J.” VallowandTylee Ryan— as well as conspiring to murder her husband, Chad Daybell’s, first wife,Tammy Daybell.
Lori married Chad in November 2019, two weeks after Tammy was killed and three weeks before the missing person’s case was opened for J.J. and Tylee.
The two were later tried separately, with Lori beingsentenced to life in prison without paroleand Chad, who was part of a doomsday cult,sentenced to death, also for the murder of Lori’s two kids and his first wife.

His killing spree began in 1990, shortly after he and Moore’s mother, Rose Hucke, divorced.

On Jan. 7, Shari published a memoir titledThe House of My Mother: A Daughter’s Quest for Freedom,reflecting on the abuse she and her siblings experienced. Though the past was challenging, she told PEOPLE ahead of the book’s release that writing it was an effort to share her side of the story and shed light on the dangers of family vlogging.
“I’ve witnessed the damage of what happens when your life is put online," she said.
