A woman is recovering after she found the body of her husband buried 3 feet deep in snow from an avalanche in Colorado earlier this month, authorities have confirmed.
Areportpublished on Wednesday, Jan. 15, from the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) detailed how the accident unfolded.
The skier’s wife “was expecting a call at the end of his ski day” on Tuesday, Jan.

A Montana woman is speaking out after herhusband died after falling from a faulty chairliftat a ski resort.
Jeffrey Zinne, 37, was alone on a ski lift at Red Lodge Mountain just before noon local time on Monday, March 10, when he plummeted to the ground, theAssociated PressandLongview News-Journalreported.
The snowboarder was transported to a Billings hospital, where he died two days later. Red Lodge Mountain spokesperson Troy Hawks said the lift had a mechanical problem at the time of the incident, according to the AP.

The wife ofBrian Thompson, the UnitedHealth Group CEO who was shot to death outside a Midtown Manhattan hotel, said her husband had been receiving threats prior to the attack.
“Yes, there had been some threats basically I don’t know, a lack of coverage? I don’t know details,” Paulette Thompson told NBC News. “I just know that he said there were some people that had been threatening him.”
Despite the threats, Paulette says her husband did not alter his travel plans.
