Ferrell joined an already star-studded cast of characters in the ‘Scared Straight’ sketch onSNL50: The Anniversary Special. The sketch begins withJason Sudeikisas a cop, addressingMarcello Hernández,Mikey DayandMichael Longfellow, three teens busted for shoplifting.
Sudeikis brings in two prisoners to help the teens understand the magnitude of what they’ve done:Kenan ThompsonandEddie Murphy.

Though he was there to promote his new comedyYou’re Cordially Invited, the actor’s Christmas comedyElfwas a hot topic, co-anchorsSavannah GuthrieandCraig Melvinasking Ferrell about reprising his role as Buddy the Elf at an NHL game back in December.
But then the two surprised theSaturday Night Livealum with a gift: his very own, 6-foot tall, talking Buddy the Elf decoration.

Ferrell, 57, spoke in honor of his friend and frequent co-star at the U.S.-Ireland Alliance’s 2025 Oscar Wilde Awards at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles on Feb. 27. The Awards honored four Irish and Irish-American creatives, including Reilly, 59.
Ferrell said during his speech that he met Reilly when he was working onSaturday Night Live, but it took time for them to work together.
