A woman who underwent a trial immunotherapy as a child forneuroblastoma— an aggressive nerve tissue tumor that occurs often in children under 5 — has since been in remission for 18 years.
Doctors believe she’s the longest-surviving cancer patient to have received the therapy, which involves an infusion of modified white blood cells.
The woman was a part of a clinical trial involving 19 children that took place from 2004 to 2009, researchers wrote inNature.

Kelley pleaded guilty to the kidnapping and was put on probation for three years after she was diagnosed with a personality disorder, according to the BBC andThe Independent.
Later in life, Humphries relocated to New Zealand.
Humphries’s husband, Karl Sundgren, announced onFacebookon Monday, Dec 9, that she had died after being diagnosed with brain cancer in 2020.
According to herFacebook page, Humphries lived with her husband in Auckland, New Zealand.

A woman in Virginia won big after she was given the wronglotteryticket.
Kelly Lindsay, from the small town Carrollton, Va., went home with $2 million dollars after being given the wrong lottery ticket at a gas station, according to theVirginia Lottery.
The winner told the company that she was not pleased when she was given a Money Blitz ticket, rather than her favorite scratcher game.
