About 25 years after a pregnant woman was found strangled to death in a Toronto parking lot, authorities have arrested and charged a suspect.
In a Feb. 7press releaseannouncing the arrest of 50-year-old Ronald Ackerman in connection with the 1998 death of 24-year-old Donna Oglive, the Toronto Police Service said investigators identified a suspect through genetic genealogy testing, with the help of calls with information that came with the police department’s podcast highlighting cold cases.

Mangione, a former high school valedictorian and University of Pennsylvania computer science graduate, has been charged with one count of murder, two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, one count of second-degree possession of a forged document, and one count of third-degree criminal possession of a firearm, PEOPLE confirmed Monday, Dec. 9.
A law enforcement source told PEOPLE that police found a “manifesto” that Mangione had written railing against the healthcare industry, writing that Thompson’s killing “had to be done” and that “frankly, these parasites had it coming.

Leah Seneng, 60, was wounded after she unexpectedly found the animal in her classroom at Bryant Middle School in Dos Palos back in October, Laura Splotch, Seneng’s friend told local ABC affiliateKFSN.
“I don’t know if she thought it was dead or what caused it to be lying around her classroom and she was trying to scoop it up and take it outside,” Splotch told the outlet.
