When Tice was 8 months old back in 1989, she was diagnosed with biliary atresia, a rare disorder that affects the bile ducts in the liver. The disease can be fatal without aliver transplant, but at the time, the operation was almost never done on children under the age of 2.
Tice was fortunate to be under the care of Dr. Carlos Esquivel, an early advocate for offering liver transplants to sick babies and toddlers.

A bride is considering asking two of her closest friends to step down fromher wedding party— but wonders if she is overreacting.
In a post on Reddit’s “Bridezillas” forum, the bride shared that she is set to marry her fiancé in July 2025 and wants to have eight bridesmaids, including two of her closest friends, whom she referred to as “Friend A” and “Friend B.

A bride began “crying in rage” after learning that the groom’s mother and sister have refused to change the color of their dresses, even though they’re the same color as her bridesmaids' gowns.
“We only got a virtual invitation with no indication about colors, we asked and they said [to] just not wear anything white-ish,” the groom’s sister explained. “My cousin, now a bridesmaid, was only asked to be a bridesmaid last week and only today she was told the dress color.

A newly married woman said she gets “extremely sad” every time she looks at her wedding photos.
In aposton Reddit’s “Wedding” forum, the recent bride expressed her disappointment over her wedding pictures. She just received the photographs, and was “gutted” to discover that her bra was “quite obviously” visible in almost every single one.
“I can’t look at my photos without getting upset,” she wrote.

A bride’s final wedding dress fitting ended in a “bloody nightmare,” according to a friend who was present during the harrowing ordeal.
The best friend of a bride-to-be explained in aposton Reddit’s “Wedding” forum that their friend’s big day is one week away, so they went with the bride to her final wedding alterations.
“Seamstress during final fitting did not use safety pins, and asked her to take a step forward — she felt the pin go straight through the side of her foot,” the poster wrote.
