TheAll My Childrenalum, 55, spoke withEntertainment Tonighton Wednesday, Jan. 9, explaining how he and his family escaped from The Eaton Fire, which burned their home earlier this week. When they were forced to evacuate, he said he “didn’t really believe” they would lose everything, so he only took passports, birth certificates and a few photo albums.

In the clip, Mathison walks down a path that appears to be outside of where the home once stood as orange skies and billowing smoke are visible in the background. The gate leading to an outdoor patio area is off its hinges, while much of the surrounding greenery is scorched.

Cameron Mathison wants his followers to be mindful when discussing people who have lost their homes in the recent Los Angeles wildfires.
Mathison gave “some gentle words to consider” in a clip he recorded from a car he was sitting in.
“Maybe if you’re sharing or commenting about somebody that’s lost their home in these fires, and everything they own — everybody’s got a very different relationship with their house,” he said.
