Duck hunters in North Carolina have discovered human remains.
On Tuesday, Jan. 14, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in apress releasethat two local men happened upon the remains at 5:49 p.m. on Jan. 13. They had been duck hunting in a wooded area around the 1600 block of Highway 16 North in Taylorsville, which is about 60 miles north of Charlotte, perCBS News.

Lucy-Anne Rushton, 30, of Andover, Hampshire, was killed in June 2019 from injuries she sustained when her estranged husband, Shaun Dyson, 28, kicked and stomped on her at her home, according to theBBC.
In Dec. 2019, Dyson pleaded guilty in Winchester Crown Court to murdering Rushton, 30, the BBC reports. He was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 17 years, according to a statement fromHampshire Police.

Two teenage girls have been charged with the “vicious” murder of a missing 13-year-old girl after they allegedly beat, stabbed and burned her to death.
“The fire department arrived to find smoke coming from inside the residence. They made entry and soon located a deceased person on the floor inside,” Columbia Police Chief “Skip” Holbrook said.
Baker, 13, who was reported missing at the time, “suffered traumatic injuries to her face and body and had been severely burned,” he described, adding that her injuries were “heinous.
