A Florida woman and her dog were killed after authorities say a man set fire to her home.
Early on the morning of Jan. 17, police responded to a burning duplex in Deerfield Beach, Fla., the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
Inside the home, which had been engulfed in flames, they found the body of Ana Paula Ribeiro de Souza, 54, according to the sheriff’s office.

Police in Florida have released body-camera footage showing a Hooters waitress allegedly attempting to flirt her way out of being arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Police claim that when Ross got out of the car she moved slowly and appeared lethargic, according to the affidavit. They also alleged that she smelled of alcohol, was unable to maintain her balance and was slurring her words, the affidavit states.

A Florida woman is accused of leaving her 5-year-old son alone in a park as a form of punishment, according to several reports.
WPLG,CBS News Miami, andWSVNreport that the Miami Beach woman, Alize Angel Rodriguez, is facing charges of child neglect without great bodily harm, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of cannabis.
Rodriguez, 20, reportedly left her 5-year-old son at the park because he was misbehaving, according to the outlets, citing police.

A Florida woman was taken into custody after she allegedly threatened her health insurance provider in a phone call after being denied medical claims.
The case came to light on Tuesday, Dec. 10, when the FBI reached out to the Lakeland Police Department about an alleged threat over the phone.
Boston allegedly contacted Blue Cross Blue Shield that same day about recent medical insurance claims she’d been denied.
