When the grooming guru, 37, on the Netflix series wasn’t helpingheroeswith life-changing transformations, Van Ness tells PEOPLE they were consuming a concerning amount of crab legs while filming in Las Vegas.
“I ate so much crab legs in Las Vegas that I almost got gout,” Van Ness says of their food obsession during season 9, which premieres Dec. 11.
“I had to talk to my doctor about it because I became really obsessed with Alaskan king crab legs and snow crab legs,” adds theGetting Curiouspodcast host, who hadsurgery for an undisclosed medical issuein 2023.

Mitchell, 81, wore a black jacket and matching cap with navy pants covered in floral prints. She rocked a pair of sunglasses and a hat with her signature long hair tied into braids.
This outing comes almost a decade afterMitchell suffered an aneurysm in March 2015that left her unable to walk or talk but has since recovered.

The Olympic gymnast, 23, authored memoirI’m That Girl: Living the Power of My Dreams(out March 4 via Harper Influence, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers) and in a new interview with PEOPLE, she recalls first becoming cognizant of feeling “different.”
“The first time that I finally realized that I wasn’t going to be able to be a typical athlete was the judging,” Chiles says.
