A Florida man is set to be executed 27 years after he raped and killed a woman and slit her husband’s throat — all in front of the couple’s 22-month-old child who was then left alone for 18 hours.
The couple’s killer, 64-year-old James Ford, is set to be executed on Thursday, Feb. 13, more than two decades after he was convicted.

A stepson accused of sedating his stepfather before allegedly keeping his decomposing body in the house for over a year is set to stand trial in Australia, a court has heard.
On Monday, Feb. 10, the Southport Magistrates Court heard that Tomislav Nemes, 69, “likely died of sepsis from infected bed sores sometime between August 2021 and February 2022” at the family’s Benowa, Gold Coast home, per theAustralian Broadcasting Corporation(ABC).

An Indiana man is being hailed as a “good Samaritan” for finding two babies who were kidnapped during a car theft.
While it’s currently unknown how long the babies were outside, the weather was reportedly as low as 27 degrees. Deane’s home was also around four miles away from the location of the theft, reportedUSA Today.

A man in England has been fined for keeping a pet alligator called Cliff in his backyard.
According toBBC News, Ashley Betts, from Rotherham, kept the 4-foot reptile in a tank at the back of his home for a year before police discovered it in July 2024.
Betts, 32, claimed he did not know a special license was needed to keep exotic creatures like Cliff. He pleaded guilty to breaching theDangerous Wild Animals Actat Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, March 12, per the outlet.
