Less than 30 seconds before an American Airlines regional passenger plane and an Army Black Hawk helicopter crashed near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 29, an air traffic controller reportedly tried to alert the helicopter pilot.
A PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet and a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter collided on Wednesday night just outside the airport, as the plane was landing.
The controller made another radio call to the helicopter seconds later, saying to “pass behind the CRJ [the plane].

An airline passenger says they refused to switch seats with a screaming child — despite insistence from the child’s parents.
In a post shared toReddit, the anonymous person recounts the incident, which they say took place while they sat in a window seat aboard a recent domestic light.
“Immediately,” the poster adds, the girl “started complaining.”

An Air Canada plane caught fire during a crash-landing in Nova Scotia this weekend.
On Saturday, Dec. 28, around 9:30 p.m. local time, Air Canada Express Flight 2259 skidded down a runway at the Halifax Stanfield International Airport, causing a wing to catch fire, according to videos shared onX(formerly known as Twitter).

A FedEx cargo plane had to make an emergency landing at Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey shortly after take-off, as part of the aircraft was set ablaze when it hit a bird.
FedEx Flight 3609 was headed for Indianapolis on the morning of Saturday, March 1, when it had to make a sudden return to the airport at around 8:07 a.m. local time due to the “bird strike,” the airport told PEOPLE in a statement.
