The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) clearedMcDonald’safter itslethal E. coli outbreaktied to the Quarter Pounder. The CDC made the announcement on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
McDonald’s chief impact officer Michael Gonda and chief supply chain officer Cesar Piña wrote in arecent statementthat the CDC has “confirmed that their respective investigations into E. coli at McDonald’s have been closed.”

The Snack Wrap is coming back!
In a new interview withGood Morning Americaon Thursday, Dec. 5, president of McDonald’s USA Joe Erlinger confirmed that the once-discontinued menu favorite will be making a return in 2025. The announcement came afterGeorge Stephanopoulosasked Erlinger on air to “reveal the secret” of the next returning menu item.
“The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,” Erlinger said.

McDonald’s is modernizing its PlayPlaces.An X user named Nancy French posted a photo of McDonald’s PlayPlace at her local eatery in Franklin, Tenn., and expressed her disappointment in the setup.“This is so heart breaking,” Nancy French wrote in a Wednesday, March 5X post. “I’m at a new McDonalds in Franklin, TN and look at their ‘play place’ for children.

Mangione was arrested five days afterthe fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEOBrian Thompsonin front of the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday, Dec. 4.
Mangione was detainedat a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pa., on Monday, Dec. 9, after a customer told an employee that they spotted him eating. The employee then notified the police. He has been labeled a “person of interest” in the shooting and has already been charged with multiple lesser offenses.
