Two people are dead after two small planes collided midair in Arizona, authorities said.
TheNational Transportation Safety Boardannounced that it’s investigating a Wednesday, Feb. 19, midair collision “between Cessna 172S and Lancair 360 MK II near Marana.”
The Cessna “landed uneventfully” while the Lancair “impacted terrain near runway 3 and a post-impact fire ensued," the NTSB added.

TheMarana Police Departmenthas confirmed in a statement that two people have died as a result of the crash. The victims have not been identified at this time.

Both the NTSB and FAA are investigating the incident, the FAA says.
The crash at Marana Regional Airport comes a week after a plane belonging to Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil wasinvolved in a fatal crashat another Arizona airport.
