2025 Grammys to Feature Quincy Jones Tribute and Performance Dedicated to the 'Spirit of the City' amid L.A. Wildfires

The2025 Grammyswill celebrate the life ofQuincy Jones, as well as the resilience of Los Angeles amidthe ongoing fires in the city.

Along with thepreviously announced performersand annual In Memoriam segment, the 67th Annual Grammy Awards will also feature “a star-studded salute to the life and legacy of Quincy Jones, and touching tributes celebrating the spirit of the city of Los Angeles,” the Recording Academy announced on Wednesday, Jan. 29.

The tributes to thelegendary musician(whodied in November2024 at age 91) and enduring “spirit” of L.A., along with the In Memoriam segment, will feature performances from a star-studded list of artists, includingStevie Wonder,Cynthia ErivoandColdplayfrontmanChris Martin.

Also slated to participate in the tributes at theTrevor Noah-hosted award ceremony — held at L.A.’s Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, Feb. 2 — areBrad Paisley,Janelle Monáe,Lainey Wilson,John Legend,Sheryl Crow,Herbie Hancock,St. Vincent, Jacob Collier and Alabama Shakes’Brittany Howard.

News of the special tribute performances comes after the Recording Academyannounced that its 2025 ceremony will raise money for relief effortsin L.A., where wildfires havedamaged thousands of structuresand killedover two dozen peoplesince Jan. 7.

This year’s show, they said, “will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours.”

To raise said funds, the Recording Academy and MusiCare launched theLos Angeles Fire Relief Effort to Support Music Professionals, which has since raised over $3 million.

“In challenging times, music has the power to heal, comfort, and unite like nothing else,” the Jan. 13 statement concluded. “The GRAMMYs will not only honor the artistry and achievements of our music community but also serve as a platform to amplify the spirit of resilience that defines this great city of Los Angeles."

With the ceremony moving ahead as scheduled — and with a new, relief-focused purpose — the Recording Academy went on to announce which of the2025 Grammy nomineesare set to perform throughout the evening. The star-studded list includesBenson Boone,Billie Eilish,Chappell Roan,Charli xcx,Doechii,RAYE,Sabrina Carpenter,ShakiraandTeddy Swims.

The Grammy Awards takes place on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 8 p.m. ET at the Crypto.com Arena. Viewers can tune in live on CBS and Paramount+.
