With9-1-1: Lone Starset to air its series finale, Jim Parrack can’t help but feel a bit disappointed in one pivotal scene.
The actor, 43, who takes on the role of Judson Ryder in the FOX procedural, recalled the emotional process of filming the finale episode and an important scene that ended up on the cutting room floor.
“There was actually a whole two- or three-page prayer that I shot on the back porch of the house that got reduced to a little flashback, but that was incredibly cathartic,” Parrack toldEntertainment Weekly.

“We shot this whole sequence where Judd downed a whole bottle of alcohol and was kind of angry at God and then begging God to do something and show up, but it only ended up being a little flash,” explained, adding that the moment was the “most important scene” to him in the entire episode.
In September 2024, FOX announced that theRob Lowe-led procedural would conclude with its fifth season. The finale episode will air on Feb. 3.

He also thanked the show’s creators,Ryan Murphy,Brad Falchukand Tim Minear, calling them “one of the greatest creative teams in all of television” as he credited them with “creating one of the most action-packed dramas anywhere.”
Parrack toldEntertainment Weeklythat fans will see just how much Austin’s 126 firehouse unit means to each other.
“And of course, underneath all that is what we meant to each other as a cast and as a team [in real life],” he said. “There was this real merging of how we all felt about it being the end and with the 126 facing what seems like could really be the end.”
