Aaron Rodgersnow has one NFL record ofTom Brady’s that the seven-time Super Bowl champ is probably very okay with losing: the most-sacked quarterback in NFL history.

But Rodgers, 41, maintains a sense of humor about the new marker.

After the Sunday, Dec. 29 game between Rodgers’ New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills, in which the Jets lost 40-14, the quarterback made a knowing joke during the post-game press conference.

“Yeah, I got Tom on that,” he told reporters after the game, perBleacher Report.

Rodgers and the Jets will miss the playoffs this season, after hopes in September that the now-fully-healthy QB would get the team to the Super Bowl. “I mean, it’s kind of like the season, it just got away from us,” Rodgers said on Dec. 29, perBleacher Report. “Too many games got away from us. We were moving the ball and then we just hit a wall and that’s kind of been the season.”

The recent tumultuous season also follows Rodgers' acknowledgment that his time with the team is uncertain. Sports analyst Jim Nantz said during the Sunday CBS broadcast of the game that Rodgers gave a vague answer when he asked him about his future on the Jets.

“He looked us right in the eye and said, ‘I really don’t know. I’ll take some time,'” Nantz, 65, said.

Meanwhile, over a month prior,SNYreported that sources said “the team prefers to move on from Rodgers, too.” However, there have been no reported updates regarding the Jets' opinion on keeping Rodgers, who is under contract through 2025.

If the team separates from Rodgers, it will coincide with their search for their next head coach. The teamfired Robert Salehearlier this season, on Oct. 8.
