The 21-year-old model and TikTok star was named Model of the Year during the ceremony, making her the first transgender model to win the prestigious award. She took the opportunity to acknowledge the historic moment on stage when she accepted the award, noting that she “can’t accept this award without thanking those who came before me.”
She specifically paid tribute to “the Black trans women who really fought for the space I’m in today.”

Consani then named other models like “Dominique Jackson, Connie Fleming, Aaron Rose Phillips and countless more who fought for the space that allowed me to flourish today.”
“Change is more than possible; it’s needed,” she ended her speech.
Cosani then took toInstagramto celebrate the win, sharing photos of her holding the award. “IM SCREAMING I [JUST] WON MODEL OF THE YEAR,” she captioned the post, adding “I can’t even begin to process this.”
Fellow Model of the Year nomineeAnok Yaitook to X (formerly known as Twitter) to congratulate Consani, while also airing out her frustrations with the Fashion Awards after she was snubbed for the coveted title for a third time.

Consani — who previously becameone of the first transgender modelsto walk at theVictoria’s Secret Fashion Showon Oct. 15 — also spoke up about advocating for more diversity in the modeling industry in her interview withTeen Vogueback in October, emphasizing “there’s more we can do.”
