Amy Schumer Jokes Martin Short 'Might Be Off the Market' amid Rumored Meryl Streep Romance atSNL50th Special (Exclusive)

TheKinda Pregnantstar was one of the countless celebrities on theSNL50: The Anniversary Specialred carpet in New York City on Sunday night, Feb. 16, where she told PEOPLE about her dream table lineup at the afterparty.

“There’s really no one funnier to sit next to thanMarty Short, who I got to sit next to at the homecoming concert the other night,” Schumer said, referring to theSNL50: The Homecoming Concert,in New York City on Friday, Feb. 14.

Of sitting with Short andMeryl Streepon Friday, Schumer — who recently starred alongside them onOnly Murders in the Building —added, “That was a very fun seat to be seated in.”

“Yes, 7 years. We had sex, we did. [Anniversaries] and birthdays. We’ll take it where we can get it,” she joked.

Schumer and 45-year-old Fischer, a professional chef, were first publicly linked in late 2017. Theytied the knoton Feb. 13, 2018, in a private Malibu ceremony. In May 2019, they welcomed their son,Gene David.

During a sketch on Friday that had former cast membersWill FerrellandAna Gasteyerreprising theirSNLcharacters Marty and Bobbi Mohan-Culp, Ferrell, 57, said, “We have pretty significant floaters right now, but it doesn’t stop us from seeing so many middle fingers peppered in both the upper mezzanine and orchestra section. It’s just unbelievably rude."

Gasteyer, 57, replied, “We’re talking about you, Meryl Streep. We see you."

With the camera then panning over to the Oscar winner in the audience, Streep raised her hand and flashed her middle finger as Short, 74, and the audience laughed loudly.

The pair’s outing together at theSNLevent comes months after representatives for Short shut down rumors regarding the nature of his relationship with Streep, after the pair appeared particularly close at the 2024Golden Globesin January of that year.

At that time, a representative for Short told PEOPLE thatthe pair are “just very good friends, nothing more."
