Ayo Edebiri Goes Up Against John Malkovich's Celebrity Cult Leader in UnnervingOpusTrailer

Ayo Edebiriportrays a journalist who inadvertently finds herself at a cult gathering in her new A24 movie.

A24 has released the trailer forOpus,in whichThe BearEmmy-winner Edibiri, 29, costars withJohn Malkovich. Malkovich portrays a massively famous — but reclusive — musician named Moretti, who invites Edibiri’s character, Ariel Ekton, to spend a weekend at his compound to participate in an “exclusive listening experience” for his new album.

Upon arrival at Moretti’s compound, Ariel meets a group of celebrities and journalists and quickly grows disturbed as people at the compound begin acting strange. When Ariel asks others present whether they are concerned, she is not taken seriously — and things eventually appear to take a turn for the dangerous.
