In Pappas' response — in which she filed a restraining order against Stephen ordering him to stay 100 yards away from her — Pappas claimed that when Stephen picked up their daughter later that evening, “Stephen told me that I needed to walk closer to him because he wanted to smell my breath to make sure that I was not drunk.”

Pappas said she ignored his comment and walked back into the garage. She then heard a noise and found Stagliano allegedly following her into her garage. Their daughter was allegedly still inside his vehicle with the engine running.

“I tried to shut my garage door. Stephen pushed my garage door upward so that it would not close. I shouted at Stephen to get out of my garage. Stephen refused to leave,” Pappas alleged.

“I attempted to shut the garage door again. Stephen used his hand and pushed the garage door upward again so that it would not close,” she continued.

Pappas alleged that afterward, while Stagliano said he was calling the cops, he continued to push up her garage door making her fear for her safety.

After calling a friend to stay on the phone with her, Pappas said she saw Stagliano stealing things from her garage, prompting her to walk outside.
