Benny Blanco Gushes After Selena Gomez Shares Their Engagement News: 'Hey Wait... That's My Wife'

“Yes I will be the flower girl,” the pop superstar wrote to Gomez, who she has beenfriends withsince 2008.

Gomez and Blanco previously worked together professionally in 2015 when he produced two songs off her sophomore solo album,Revival: “Kill Em With Kindness” and “Same Old Love.” Since then, they’ve collaborated on multiple occasions, including for her August 2023 release “Single Soon."

“Without getting into too much detail, I think it’s just really important to meet someone that respects you,” she explained at the time. “And I think it’s really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. But I’d have to say overall it’s the safest that I feel and it’s been really lovely and I’ve only grown through it, so it’s awesome.”

Months later, while speaking withVanity Fairfor a cover story shared on Sept. 9, Gomez explained how she’s “never been loved this way,” referring to her relationship with the producer. “He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life,” she said. “He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”

At the time, Gomez also revealed they “always make sure we’re protecting what we have,” and that she wants Blanco to “always be himself.” As for marriage, she revealed she had one caveat: “I’m not changing my name no matter what. I am SelenaGomez.That’s it.”
