Bowen Yangwent to considerable lengths to make Hollywood’s biggest night!
While speaking on the2025 Oscarsred carpet, theSaturday Night Livestar, 34, appeared fresh and well-rested despite taking a last-minute flight from New York to Los Angeles after appearing on the late-night sketch show less than 24 hours before.
When asked if he took a private jet to be able to attend the ceremony with his fellowWickedcostars, Yang admitted he kept things more low-key and boarded a commercial flight.

“I was a man of the people, I want to keep my carbon footprint low, and so I just took the 6 a.m. [flight] out of JFK [airport],” he toldVariety. “And here I am!”
“I’m okay. I slept on the flight and Celsius [energy drink] is one of our great scientific conventions,” he quipped.
At this year’s Oscars, Yang was not only a presenter for Best Costume Design, but also showed support forWicked: Part One, in which he plays one of Glinda’s trusty sidekicks, Pfannee, and its 10 nominations.
In addition to Yang, the musical adaptation starsAriana Grande,Cynthia Erivo,Jonathan Bailey,Jeff Goldblum,Marissa Bode,Ethan SlaterandMichelle Yeoh. The film became a box office smash upon its November 2024 release. It is the highest-grossing musical film adaptation ever and the fifth-highest-grossing film of 2024. The film’s second half,Wicked: For Good,is slated for a Nov. 21, 2025, release.

Ahead of the film’s premiere, Yang told PEOPLE that he and hisSNLcastmates watched the final cut ofWickedtogether—and why that was so meaningful for him.
“And then, that same day, we went to 30 Rock at NBC and did the studio tour, and I sat in the seats atSNL,” Yang continued. “So, I was like, ‘If those two things happened on the same day, I need them to intersect just one more time.' "
Yang said the experience was “so special” as he was able to introduce the film to his “SNLfamily” — some of whom weren’t familiar with the show at all.
