Brooke Shields Shares That She Finally Removed Her ‘Orange’ Eyebrow Tattoo After a Microblading Mishap

Brooke Shieldsis reversing a beauty mishap.

Alongside dermatologist Dr. Macrene Alexiades, the actress, 59, shared that she underwent laser treatment after a past microblading session went wrong, causing the tattoo to appear “orange.”

“I’m so proud to report that the laser tattoo removal successfully removed the orange tattoo on her brow in only two treatments,” Dr. Alexiades said in a video posted to herInstagramon Tuesday, Jan. 28. “So her brows are back to being the beautiful best that we consider a national treasure.”

“They also started growing back, which is really good,” Shields added.

PerCosmopolitan, mircroblading is a semi-permanent makeup procedure where brows are tattooed using a blade-like tool with small needles to create hair-like lines.

She also said that she is “almost finished” with a tattoo removal on her wrist. The nearly faded ink is next to a newerladybug tattoothat Shields got with her daughter Rowan as a high school graduation gift for the then-18-year-old in June 2021.

TheBlue Lagoonactress shared a close-up shot of their ink onInstagram, captioning the post: “A special graduation gift and memory with my girl šŸž I’m so proud of you, I love you more than words can say.”

In May 2024, Shields and Dr. Alexiades shared an update about the actress' “eyebrow and hair journey.”

“I had gone so far as to try to microblade and then the ink itself kind of bled and then it turned yellow,” Shields explained in the clip. “…These eyebrows have seen a lot of life and they need to be brought back to their original life.”

The dermatologist chatted through some options for eyebrow hair regrowth, which include injections containing “a solution that stimulates the growth of the eyebrows,” different topical treatments and vitamins like biotin.

Later in the clip, Dr. Alexiades is seen using the PicosecondĀ laser on Shields' eyebrows and wrist and injecting her brows with a steroid solution to stimulate hair growth.

Shields also reflected on the societal pressures women face, saying: “The beauty industry wants us to chase youth, we look at regrets — what if, what if,” she said. “And I think it’s important to understand where you’ve been, but I think it’s really joyous to say, ā€˜I may not know where I’m going but I’m here.’”
