DynastyStar Mark Withers Dies at 77 After Pancreatic Cancer Diagnosis: 'A Legacy of Warmth, Humor and Dedication'

Mark Withers, the actor best known for playing Ted Dinard in the originalDynastyseries, has died. He was 77.

His daughter, Jessie Withers, tells PEOPLE that he died on Nov. 22 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

β€œHe confronted his illness with the same strength and dignity he brought to his craft, creating a legacy of warmth, humor, and dedication, along with his remarkable ability to make every role unforgettable,” Jessie said of her father.

Mark spent four decades in the television industry after landing his fire role in the late 1970s.

AlongsideDynasty, Mark played parts in other television series, includingMagnum, P.I., The Dukes of Hazard, Wonder Woman, DallasandDays of Our Lives.

He later had roles in more recent series as well, such asTrue Blood, Criminal Minds, CastleandStranger Things.

Mark last appeared onscreen in two movies released in 2019, according toIMDb.
