GOP Senator, 64, Suffers Concussion and 'Slight Brain Bleed' After Slipping on Ice

North Dakota Senator Kevin Crameris recovering after being hospitalized for falling on ice and injuring his head.In a Monday, Feb. 24Facebook post, the GOP member announced that the day before, he was “intending to retrieve a piece of conduit” that had fallen off his dock and onto the ice. “While walking on the hill down to the dock, I stepped on ice and evidently fell hard, hitting the back of my head,” Cramer, 64, wrote.Sen. He revealed that though he’s “better,” he still has “a slight brain bleed and pretty bad headaches.” On doctor’s orders, he’ll be resting at home before returning to Washington D.C., but noted that he’s “ready to return quickly if events require it.“Kevin Cramer brain bleed.Senator Kevin Cramer/FacebookThe senator’s accident comes just two months after his son Ian Cramer, 43, wassentenced to 28 years in prisonafter being involved in a December 2023 car accident that killed 53-year-old Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputy Paul Martin.In a statement shared the night of the accident, Cramer said that his son “suffers from serious mental disorders which manifest in severe paranoia and hallucinations.““We ask the public for prayers for the lost officer’s family and colleagues who serve us every day and are grateful for all they do for us,” he continued. “We also ask God for healing for Ian. We love him and hurt deeply.”
