Warning: This post contains spoilers for season 3 ofSex Lives of College Girls.Gracie Lawrence has officially made her entrance with Essex’s favorite roommates.The 27-year-old singer and actress is best known as one-half of the bandLawrence, but joinedseason 3 ofThe Sex Lives of College Girlsas the girls' new roommate, Kacey, followingthe emotional exit of Reneé Rapp’s character, Leighton Murray.Speaking to PEOPLE ahead of the season premiere, Lawrence revealed the shock that Whitney (Alyah Chanelle Scott), Kimberly (Pauline Chalamet) and Bela (Amrit Kaur) experience when Kacey arrives in their dorm mimics her own feelings at just how fast she joined the Max series earlier this year.“The turnaround between when I auditioned and when I had to be on set was so quick,” she recalled. “I auditioned, sent in a self-tape, and then a day later, maybe two days later… They wanted me to come in for a final callback. I did that the next morning, and then later that day they were like, ‘Okay, great. You got the job.'““I was like, That happened so quickly,'” she added. “I live in New York and was in the middle of making my album, and they were like, ‘Well, we shoot in LA.’ I was like, ‘Okay, great. I will be there. In retrospect, she’s thankful it all happened so fast.“I loved that it was quick,” she shared. “I also knew I wanted to do the job. I was so excited about it and I loved the show, so to me it was like — oh great, let’s just get started.“There was a blessing in the fast turnaround time, too, which she recognizes. “I think if I had a ton of time to percolate on exactly how I wanted to say every line of the episode, I would’ve been more terrified.
