A groom broke down in tears after hearing a surprise message from his son and bride on his wedding day.
The heartfelt footage of Alex Gilliead’s 2-year-old son, Gabriel, saying, “Hi, Daddy” and adorably trying to pronounce his last name has gone viral on social media, with the clip amassing 3.7 million views and more than 600,000 likes on TikTok alone.
In an unexpected moment, a tearjerking audio message from Gabriel began playing.
“Hi, Daddy,” the bride began. “Can Gabriel say, ‘Hi, Daddy’?”
The toddler sweetly greeted his father, who began smiling and crying.
“Today is the day Mummy becomes Megan Emily Gilliead,” Megan continued. “Can Gabriel say, ‘Gilliead’?”

“See you soon, Daddy. Love you,” Megan said.
“Gabriel, say, ‘Love you,'” she concluded, to which Gabriel cutely replied a mumbled, “Love you.”
Next, Megan made her way down. The bride tells PEOPLE that she came up with the idea for the sweet surprise after seeing another couple do so for their wedding on TikTok. She asked her violinist just six days before the ceremony if she could play the message for her.
“I recorded the message with two tries,” Megan says. “His daddy is so special to us both and I tried to make the day feel just as centered around him as me. I did my own speech after the groomsmen for that reason too.”

While Megan didn’t record the audio message with the intention of making Alex cry, it was a nice bonus.
“The voice recording had him in tears. Our son’s our everything so I knew it would be special,” she says. “Seeing that first part where he almost cries and laughs when he hears our voices is so heartwarming — it shows how much we mean to him to have such an impact.”
While she was waiting outside the ceremony space, Megan recalls being able to still clearly hear the “awwwwws” from her wedding guests.
“Our guests still talk about it to this day,” she says.
