Harvey Weinstein Reacts to Adrien Brody Mentioning His Kids in His 2025 Oscars Acceptance Speech

Harvey Weinsteinis speaking out from prison after his ex-wife Georgina Chapman’s boyfriendAdrien Brodygave a special shoutout to the disgraced producer’stwo childrenin his2025 Oscarsacceptance speech.

Brody, 51, took home the Best Actor gong for his role inThe Brutalist, his second win after 2002’sThe Pianist.During his speech, an emotional Brody acknowledged his proud girlfriend, 48, in the audience, as well as the two children she shares with Weinstein.

“I share this with my amazing partner, Georgina, who has not only reinvigorated my own self-worth, but my sense of value and my values,” Brody said during his speech. “And her beautiful children, Dash and India, I know this has been a rollercoaster, but thank you for accepting me into your life, and Popsy’s coming home a winner!”

Weinstein, 72, who is currently serving a23-year sentenceafter being convicted of third-degree rape and committing a criminal sex act in 2020, spoke out about Brody’s mention of his daughter India, 14, and son Dashiell, 11.

“Harvey is happy for Georgina and grateful that his kids are being loved and cared for as they deserve to be,” Weinstein’s representative told PEOPLE in a statement.

She and Brody were first linked in 2019 after reconnecting at a dinner, andPEOPLE confirmed their relationshipin early 2020.

The pair made their red carpet debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2021 and have made several public appearances together since.

During an interview with PEOPLE in April 2023, Brody recalled when a then-9-year-old Dashiell onceleft him speechless.

“[He] asked me — quite seriously, ‘What would you rather eat? Ice cream that tastes like s— or s— that tastes like ice cream?’ " he shared.

Weinstein is currently serving his prison term at Rikers Island in New York City after beginning his sentence at Wende Correctional Facility in upstate New York. In April 2024, however, his 2020New York convictions were overturnedand he is currently awaiting a retrial. The disgraced movie mogul has remained behind bars due to his 2022 convictions for sex crimes charges in California.
