Hugh Jackman Shares His 'Slow Progress' on Jump Rope as He Rehearses for More Radio City Music Hall Concerts

Hugh Jackmanis slowly perfecting a new special skill.

On Friday, Feb. 7, Jackman shared an update on his training for his concert seriesFrom New York, with Loveat Radio City Music Hall in New York City, revealing that he’s still hard at work on his skipping and jump rope dance routine.

In a video shared to Instagram, he showed off footage of himself, sporting a tank top, running shorts and gym shoes and trainer Beth Lewis skipping in sync as Icona Pop’s “I Love It” plays in the background.

“Here comes jump rope content. This is a few months in,” theDeadpool & Wolverinestar, 56, wrote in the caption of his post.

“Slow progress. Patience, determination and repetition,” he continued. “Beth wasn’t giving up and neither was I. We call this the ‘dance that got away.’ More to come. #fromnewyorkwithlove.”

The actorfirst revealed that he had been hard at work on the skipping routineduring theopening night of his concert series at Radio City Music Hallon Friday, Jan. 24. He shared his excited reaction to the successful first performance (save for a few missteps) onInstagramthe following day.

“What an incredible night it was. We opened our show at the @radiocitymusichall,” Jackman wrote in the caption. “It had all the feels. The love, the glitches, the sweat, the tears, the laughter and, and, and the love emanating from the audience was enormous. We all felt it.”

Jackman first announced his concert series in October 2024, revealing that he would be performing a series of 12 concerts throughout 2025. The show — which marks his first new concert offering in five years — will feature performances of songs from stage productions and movies from across his career, including fromThe Boy from Oz,The Greatest ShowmanandThe Music Man, among a number of other surprises.

“I was told this was going to be a comedy version ofLes Misas a one-man show. We all said it was a terrible idea but he carried on. I see he’s duped me once again!” Reynolds joked at the time.

Jackman also spoke about the special milestone on opening night, tearfully addressing the crowd and thanking them for their support.

“I said thank you at the beginning and I’m going to say it again. You all chose to be here with us on our first night at Radio City,” a grateful Jackson said, visibly holding back tears. “I hosted the Tonys here 22 years ago, and my dream was to perform here. Thank you for being here.”

The 12-concert series kicked off the weekend of Jan. 24, 2025 and continues through weekends in April, May, June, and July of 2025; two final shows will be held on Aug. 15 and 16.
