Hulu's First-Ever Livestream of 2025 Oscars Goes Dark for Many Viewers Due to Technical Glitch

Hulu left users frustrated as the streaming platform experienced widespread outages during theOscars 2025.“Having issues logging in? If so — we’re on it!” Hulu Support wrote onX, with the main account reposting at 7:39 pm ET on Mar. 2. “Our team is actively investigating, and we hope to have things back up and running soon.”

According to the website traffic serviceDowndetector, more than 34,000 outages were reported around 6:30 pm ET during the97th Academy Awards.

This is the first time the platform is streaming the awards ceremony live. It is also airing on ABC.

On Feb. 28, Disney confirmed withDeadlinethat it sold all of its advertising inventory. A 30-second ad spot costs between $1.7 and $2.3 million, which is consistent with the 2024 show.
