Husband Sent Worried Texts to Missing Wife Who Was Later Found Dead in Submerged Car

A search and rescue unit with the sheriff’s office recovered the car and discovered Fundo’s body inside at approximately 3 a.m. on Saturday, March 1.

Investigators do not suspect foul play, and Fundo’s cause of death has not yet been determined.

Meanwhile, Fundo’s husband,who works as a private contractor in Saudi Arabia, became increasingly alarmed after he FaceTimed with his wife while she was at the restaurant and then was unable to confirm that she had returned home safely.

After Kristen did not respond, he continued to text her.

“Getting concerned now. Tried to call you twice,” he wrote.

He added: “This is very abnormal babe. I’m stressed out right now! You better be OK!”

As authorities piece together Kristen’s last moments,her family has launched a GoFundMeto help with the funeral expenses.

“Kristen was a light in everyone’s life and her family and friends thank you for the love and support,” organizer Mikayla Fundo wrote.
