Photo:rag & bone (2)I have to admit I’m a skeptic when it comes to viral clothing. Perhaps my expectations are too high, but whenever I trya “must-have” item, it often ends up missing the mark. That was until I tried the celebrity-lovedRag & Bone Miramar Sweatpant Jeans.Personally, I took a while to warm up to the idea of a sweatpant-jean hybrid. In the past, I’ve found that mixing the two styles can either come off as fake-looking or incredibly uncomfortable. After seeing celebrities likeBrittany Mahomes, Kylie Minogue, and Cate Blanchett sport the deceptive bottoms andnumerous TikTokson my FYP raving about them, though, I sought to find out if the pants were actually worth the investment.People (2)I can confidently say these are some of the most comfortable pants I’ve ever worn. Moreover, I’ve tricked almost everybody into thinking they are traditional jeans.Rag & Bone’s unique digital printing technique creates an optical illusion that gives the bottoms a denim-like effect, straight down to the faux button detailing. The wide-leg fit also contributes to the illusion, but that’s where any relation to denim stops. The pants are made from 100 percent cotton with a terry cloth interior that feels like your favorite pair of lightweight sweatpants.Miramar Side Stripe High Waist Wide Leg PantsNordstrom$208 at NordstromI purchased theMiramar Side Stripe High Waist Wide Leg Pants, which come in a light wash shade perfect for transitioning into spring. The Miramar fabric is available in almost 40 styles, including 11 for men. As someone who is 5 feet tall, the 31-inch inseam is a tad long for me, but the jeans are also available incropped styles. My testing didn’t stop there: I wanted to see if the sweatpants could genuinely pass as jeans or if it was all in my head. I wore them out to dinner, where I bamboozled my family after revealing the material. I also shocked my boyfriend after he noticed me lounging on the couch in my “jeans.” In fact, my mom was so taken aback that I influenced her to buy a pair, too. While they are certainly a splurge, I have to say that the amount of wear I’ll get out of them helps justify the price tag. While I won’t be abandoning my denim jeans altogether, it’s become hard not to reach for the sweats version when getting dressed in the morning.Keep scrolling to shop more Rag & Bone Miramar styles, along with other supersoft jeans from Spanx, Gap, and more starting at $42.Rag & Bone Miramar Sofie High Waist Ankle Wide Leg Sweatpant JeansNordstrom$238 at NordstromRag & Bone Miramar Jogger Sweatpant JeansNordstrom$155 at NordstromSpanxshape Everywear Wide Leg JeansSpanx$148 at SpanxGap Mid Rise UltraSoft Baggy JeansGAP$80 at GapIuga Wide Leg Stretchy JeansAmazon$42 at AmazonHalara High Waisted Stretchy Knit Casual JeansHalara$55$50 at Thehalara.com
