The Oscar winner — known for her work on films likeShakespeare in Love(1998),The Aviator(2004) and, of course,Cinderella(2015) — brings her expertise to Disney’s newest live-action reimagining, starting with a “direct reference” to the original 1937 animatedSnow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

She continues of Snow White’s costume, “I also decided to give her long sleeves to give a more period feel reminiscent of the Middle Ages.”

Gadot, meanwhile, says her experience working with the “so established and talented” Powell was “amazing,” adding, “She knew what she was doing, and she took everything very seriously.”
