Jenna Bush Hager Admits She Sometimes Gets 'the Ick' with Husband Henry Hager

Jenna Bush Hageris proving that even longtime couples are not immune from “the ick.”

Despite 16 years of marriage to her husband,Henry Hager, Jenna admitted onToday with Hoda & Jennathat she isn’t head over heels for everything he does.

“Thankfully, I don’t know if I’ve ever had ‘the ick’ with someone I’m in love with,” Lupe, 35, told the co-hosts. “Because then you’re like, ‘Oh yeah, this is intimacy. This is what we’re doing.’ ”

However, Jenna — who shares kidsMila, 11;Poppy, 9; andHal, 5; with Henry — questioned that take, saying, “Spoiler alert — because I’ve been with my husband for 20 years — you do get it. But there’s so many more un-icks than icks.”

While Jenna tends to be an open book when it comes to her personal life, Kotb, 60, stepped in to stop her from answering when Lupe asked her to name one of Henry’s “icks.”

“No, no, don’t. Don’t!” Kotb told her co-host. “Cause you know what happens, Justine? It gets in Page Six, and she gets in trouble. I’m protecting her from herself.”

Jenna is no stranger to talking about Henry on her morning talk show. In October she got candid aboutHenry’s unexpected proposalwhile she was “cranky” on a hike.

“We hiked Cadillac Mountain, which is in Acadia in Maine, national park, which is so pretty,” she shared at the time. “And he proposed to me at the top. Now listen, I wasn’t predicting it.”

“Grumpy, a little grumpy," she recalled feeling. “And he said, ‘Let’s stop for a Luna bar, the sun is about to come up let’s watch it together.’ And I said, ‘No, I’m too cold to stop.’ I said, ‘Let’s please keep going.’ He said, ‘Can we please stop for a Luna bar?’ I said, ‘No we can’t!’ And then finally he said, ‘We’re stopping for a Luna bar,’ and I was like, ‘Ugh.’ And then he proposed.”

Back in May, Jenna also said sheregretted not dating morebefore marrying Henry in her mid-20s.

“I dated in college, I dated in high school. But I didn’t date enough, which is what I realized,” she said onToday with Hoda & Jennaat the time. “I met the right person early and it’s great and we’ve built a really incredible life and I’m proud of it. But also, you should have fun and date while you can.”
