Jessica Alba and Cash Warren Struggled to 'Keep the Spark' in Marriage but There's No 'Hateful Drama' (Exclusive Source)

There’s no “hateful drama” betweenJessica AlbaandCash Warrenas they reportedly call off their marriage.

According to a report from TMZ on Wednesday, Jan. 8, the pair, who married in 2008 and have three children together,have separated and are preparing for divorce. A rep for Alba has not responded to requests for comment.

A source tells PEOPLE that Alba, 43, and Warren, 45, are still “friends and all about the kids.”

“No matter what’s going on right now, it seems they will remain close,” says the source. “If they’re filing for divorce, it’s not because of some hateful drama. They still look happy together.”

“Jess has mentioned over the years though that it’s hard to keep the spark,” the source adds.

TheTrigger Warningactress and Warren first met in 2004, and they share daughtersHonor, 16, andHaven, 13, and sonHayes, 7.

They put on a united front earlier this month to celebrate theiryoungest’s birthday as a family, spending the day at Universal Studios. Both Alba and Warren have been spotted on outings in recent weeks without wearing their wedding rings.

Alba shared aphoto roundupon Instagram for New Year’s Eve that didn’t feature Warren, and she wrote in the caption about having a year “filled with connection, growth, adventures, laughter, peace, sisterhood, transformation, rebirth, joy and so much love.”

She added at the time, “I’m proud of us for making it this far. There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family. Through thick and thin we have continually found our way back to each other and have chosen one another. Cheers to us, I love you.”

Alba, whostepped down as chief creative officer of the Honest Companyin April 2024, told PEOPLE in June that partners “have toreally find time to make time for each other.”

She added at the time, “Anytime we ebb or flow, we just look around and it’s like, ‘Actually, at my worst I’m still better off with you.’ You have to look up and say, ‘Would my life be better if we weren’t together?’ And every time it’s ‘No.’ We’re friends, you know?”
