Kaitlyn Bristowe Shares Her Outlook on Marriage After 2 Broken Engagements: 'I Don't Know If Anything's Changed'

Kaitlyn Bristowesays she still believes in marriage — despite being unlucky withprevious engagements.

However, Bristowe also admitted that she felt like she needed to “soften up a little bit” because she can act “too tough sometimes.” She explained, “my friends always call me an undercover softie because I act so hard on the outside [saying,] ‘I don’t know if I wanna get married.’ But they’re like, ‘You are a lover.’”

“I really am [a softie] deep down,” she added. “And I just think I’ve always… had the same beliefs and thoughts and ideas of what love is. It’s just I think I’ve maybe gotten more secure in my own self so I can talk about it differently now.”

TheBeverly Hills, 90210star, 52, then asked the reality star how she can “choose love again” after all the “heartbreak” she’s been through. Bristowe noted that she doesn’t “know how” but, “I just do.”

“You’d think the older you get in, the more wisdom, the more heartbreak, and the more lessons you would feel more confident going into another relationship. But I actually feel like I’m more confident in myself and I’m less confident and more insecure about real love. And I think that’s okay because that’s where I’m at right now,” she shared.

Bristowe and ex-fiancéJason Tartickannouncedthe end of their engagementin August 2023 in a joint Instagram post, writing, “we are saddened with heavy hearts to share that we have decided to end our engagement."

The caption added that they were “thankful” for the time and space to process the “life-altering” choice. They also revealed that they would continue to share ownership of their dogs and revealed, “Continuing our friendship is incredibly important to both of us.”

Bristowe met Tartick, 36, when he made an appearance on herOff the Vinepodcast in 2018. They began dating in 2019 andgot engagedin 2021. They latersplitin July 2023 but didn’t publicize the news until the following month.

The reality star was also previously engaged toShawn Booth, who she met on her season ofThe Bachelorette. The pair got engaged in 2015 and split three years later.
