The Kansas City Chiefs cheerleaders know how to make a mark.

Clinching a Super Bowl victory is undoubtedly an unforgettable moment, but the cheerleaders on the four-time NFL Championship-winning team have created a permanent tradition so that the memory is sure to last forever.

In a video shared onTikTokafter the 2024 Super Bowl, longtime Chiefs cheerleader Stefanie Hills revealed the “crazy tradition” she and her teammates do each time Kansas City makes it to the NFL Championship Game.

“We have this crazy tradition where we get tattoos every time we go to a Super Bowl. Last year, we went to Definitive Tattoo Gallery and we absolutely loved it, so we’re back!” Hills says in the clip filmed in March 2024 as she arrived at the ink hub filled with her fellow Chiefs cheer squad.

“Once I got inside, all my teammates were already there. This was my fourth Super Bowl appearance, so that means tattoo number four today,” revealed Hills, who notes she just wrapped her “sixth and final season” with the team.

Hills then began to pan to the tattoos she had done in previous years, showing off the Roman numerals on her foot that represented Super Bowl LIV, Super Bowl LV and Super Bowl LVII. This time, she was there to add Super Bowl LVIII.

As Hills continued to share glimpses of the studio crowded with her teammates, she made sure to state that the inking tradition was not mandatory.

“It is not a requirement to get a tattoo and there is absolutely no pressure,” she made clear. “However, I would say the majority of our team got tatted today. Even our athletic trainer, Michaela, joined us and got a cute Vegas-themed tattoo with 34 to represent the members of our team!”

Hills then showed off her teammate, a Pro Bowl Cheerleader, who was “also heavily tatted on the foot” as well. “Most of us got the Roman numerals, however; you could get whatever you were feeling,” she explained.

Since Hills was matching designs from previous years, she requested the same tattoo artist to ensure consistency. “I asked him to match the font and the size,” she shared in the video. “He ended up just drawing it on, which is so impressive… I didn’t think I’d be going to four!” she exclaimed.

Then, Hills included an angle of her getting the tattoo done. “Here I am in shock that it was hurting as bad as it was,” she said, showing a clip of her sitting down as her foot got inked near the knuckle of her toe. “I have a flower tat on my ribs that he did and I swear it did not hurt this bad.”

Once the Roman numerals were complete, Hills requested an arrowhead to be added next to the numbers on her foot. “Way more tolerable. Way more meat on this part of my foot,” she said of the new tattoo placement.

In conclusion, Hills raved about the “blast” they had during the experience and called it a “10/10 day” overall.

Now, as the Kansas City Chiefs continue their fight through the playoffs in the lead-up to Super Bowl 2025, eyes will also be on the team’s cheer squad to see if they keep the tradition alive! The team is heading into their first playoff game with a 15-2 record.

QuarterbackPatrick Mahomes, tight endTravis Kelceand the rest of the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18. If the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl and win, they will be the first team to “three-peat” in the history of the NFL.
