Kayla Nicolehas a Big Game winner in mind.
While discussing the season finale ofSpecial Forces: World’s Toughest Teston Wednesday, Feb. 5, the sports broadcaster shared her Super Bowl prediction exclusively with PEOPLE, revealing whether she’d “bet money” on the Kansas City Chiefs or the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I don’t really have a dog in the fight,” Nicole, who dated Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce for around five years before splitting in May 2022, tells PEOPLE exclusively. Still, she selected a team she thinks will win on Feb. 9 in New Orleans and explained her reason why.
Though she admitted she’s “not a betting girl,” she says if she “had to bet money” on a winner she’d pick the Chiefs. In fact, there is one player in particular who she believes will aid in their victory.

“I think that Patrick Mahomes is going to seal the deal,” Nicole tells PEOPLE of the quarterback defending the team’s back-to-back titles. “The guy knows what he’s doing and I would bet the Chief’s take this,” she confirms.

Super Bowl week is a busy one for Nicole professionally, too, since she’ll be working forI’m Athletein the days leading up to the game. She posted on her Instagram Stories on Feb. 6 that she touched down in New Orleans for the big game, and told PEOPLE exclusively that she’ll be covering the Eagles press conference.
That’s why she’s looking forward to the highly-anticipated NFL Championship Game, regardless of whether her ex is playing or not. “I watched the Super Bowl often. I’m a sports fanatic!” she says of how she’s feeling about the increased headlines and hype around it.

Plus, the sports-lover said she is looking forward to the potential history-making moment the Kansas City Chiefs could secure if they win, becoming the first-ever NFL team to “three-peat” at the Super Bowl.
“This is a really cool time for football, especially considering the Chiefs are about to potentially make history with a three-peat,” she tells PEOPLE. “So it’s an exciting time to be a football fan for sure.”
