Kelly Powers, Fox News Contributor Who Welcomed Son After Brain Cancer Diagnosis, Dies at 45

Dr. Kelly Powers, a physician and surgeon who contributed to multiple Fox News shows, has died. She was 45.

The medical expert was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2020. Although she went into remission, the cancer returned in 2024 and she died on Sunday, Dec. 1.

“She was a brave and beautiful soul who could make friends anywhere she went,”her obituaryread. “Kelly had a love for people and she was dedicated to helping others.”

During her battle with glioblastoma, Powers underwent three brain surgeries as well as multiple rounds of radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, according to aGoFundMethat has since been disabled.

In addition to her professional work, Powers' hobbies included gardening, surfing, ballet, biking, running, horseback riding, and travel.

But, her obituary said, “Most important to her was her family."

Powers was pregnant with her son Bennett, who is now 3, while she through treatment. She referred to herself as “the luckiest unlucky girl” after her cancer went into remission, and she also joked about how her treatment left her with the same haircut as her newborn son.
