Khloé Kardashian Is 'Ready to Feel Good About Myself Again' (Exclusive)

Khloé Kardashianis in a very good place at the moment: healthy, loving her hit podcastKhloé in Wonderland,and launching season 6 ofThe Kardashianson Hulu.

But the past four years of her life were vastly different.

“I really became a crazy recluse,” she exclusively tells PEOPLE of fully losing sight of herself and who she used to be when she was in her late 30s. “It started with COVID and then just life, and then I somehow lost all my confidence and became very reclusive, which is so not my personality.”

She credits turning 40 last June, along with the podcast which hit #2 on the pop culture and society charts, with helping her rediscover her old, fun-loving self again. “I hated my thirties!” she says with a laugh.

“I’d been begging to be 40 for two years. I was like, I’ve got to get out of the 30s. So when I was 39, I was really intentional about shedding all the drama I’d been dealing with,” she continues. “I just decided, ‘I’m not taking this to my 40s.’ I’m going to do new things. I’m going to get my confidence back. I’m going to feel good about myself again. I’m going to do jobs that I’ve been intimidated to do.”

One of those jobs is of course,Khloé in Wonderland, which drops on X each Wednesday, and then goes wide on Thursdays. So far she’s hosted guests likeScott Disick,motivational speakers likeMel RobbinsandJay Shetty, and divorce lawyerLaura Wasser.

“Chatting comes really easy to me,” Kardashian says.

The rest, she says, is a work in progress.

“It’s interesting. I get interviewed so much, but steering the ship and interviewing someone else is a whole different game,” the Good American founder explains. “And I know that sounds silly, but it is. I’m like, oh, okay, this has to go somewhere. I have to navigate this. With people like Mel and Jay, even though I know him, they are really big names in their industry, so that’s intimidating!”

Despite enjoying talking to her guests, she says she’s hesitant to take it further with an actual talk show.

“I’m never going to say never to anything, but podcasting, it’s really fun and it’s easy. I saw my mom do the talk show stuff, and that is a huge commitment. A true full-time job. You can’t be a hands-on mom because you’re just chained to the studio,” she notes. “But podcasting is looser in that regard. And yeah, I think as long as I keep having these crazy curiosities and interests, then I will continue to enjoy chatting and asking the weirdest questions.”

She says she might host her mom,Kris Jenner,for some cocktails — and maybe even her daughter and her cousins to hear their take on the world.

“I wantTrue [Thompson],Dream [Kardashian],Chicago [West]andStormi [Webster]to come on, and just want to get their thoughts on life,” she says of the under-ten family set. “I think that would be fascinating.”

For now, she’s just enjoying being back in her groove, feeling healthier than she’s ever been, and not looking to the past.

“I’m traveling again. You’ll see on the show, Kim and I at theAmbani weddingin India, which was just so colorful. And we went to Italy to see Andrea Bocelli. I’m loving traveling again,” she says, before adding, “I’m ready to be sort of a newer, but actually old version of me. I’m still working on it, but I’m so much better than where I was.”
