And the Golden Globe goes to …Kieran Culkin!
Culkin, 42, was in the category among fellow nominees Yura Borisov (Anora),Edward Norton(A Complete Unknown),Guy Pearce(The Brutalist),Jeremy Strong(The Apprentice) andDenzel Washington(Gladiator II).
After taking the stage to accept the honor, Culkin confessed that he and his wifeJazz Chartonhad just taken a shot withMario Lopez. “Oh thanks, this is incredible. I’m feeling a little - my wife and I did a shot of tequila with Mario Lopez, definitely feeling that,” he said. “Whole speech is gone - terrific Kieran, you’re doing fine. I love the Golden Globes.”
“The first ever acknowledgment I got as an actor was a Golden Globe nomination when I was basically a kid, and that meant a lot so this has a special place,” Culkin added. “Now it’s like the best date night my wife and I ever have, so thanks Golden Globe people, you guys are nuts! In the best way, keep doing what you’re doing.”
The actor complimented hisA Real Paincostar and directorJesse Eisenbergfor writing “an incredible script” and encouraged any actors to “just leap at” opportunities to work with Eisenberg, 41. “I know, please wrap up. Couple of quick thank you and then I’ll piss off,” he said, before thanking Searchlight Pictures, his manager, his mother and “my gorgeous wife, of course,” as he wrapped up his speech.
“Thank you for putting up with what you call my ‘mania,’ " Culkin told Charton, whom he married in 2013. “I’m working on it, I got a therapist now. It’s fine. It’s not fine; it’s a lot of work, we’ll see where it goes.”

Culkin, who’s received career-best reviews for his dramatic performance inA Real Pain, won a Golden Globe just last year for the final season ofSuccession.
In his 2024 acceptance speech,Culkin said, “I was nominated for a Golden Globe 20 years ago, and when that moment passed I sort of remember thinking I’m never going to be back in this room again. Which, was fine. Whatever. But thanks toSuccession, I’ve been in here a couple of times, which is nice. But I sort of accepted I’m never going to be on stage, so this is a nice moment, thank you.”
Though Culkin walked away with the big award, the other nominees were also worthy of the prize.

Borisov, a classically trained Moscow-born actor, plays henchman Igor, who grows close to Anora over the course of the film. Baker wrote the role for Borisov, 32, after seeing him at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021 in the award-winning filmCompartment No. 6.
