Kim Kardashian Recalls the Strict Warning Kanye West Gave Her Weeks Before Paris Robbery That Ended Up Saving a Prized Item

One ofKim Kardashian’s most precious pieces of jewelry was saved whenshe was robbed in Paris in 2016— thanks to an off-the-cuff warning fromKanye West.

On the March 13 episode ofThe Kardashians, Kim, 44, recalled the warning her then-husband had given her to never wear both of her engagement rings at the same time after she did so once — and showed it off online.

“My first one that I got engaged to Kanye [with] was a cushion cut and that was the only piece of jewelry I owned that I didn’t take to Paris,” Kim said.

West proposed initially with a 15-carat ring in 2013and latergifted her an upgraded, 20-carat ringthat she debuted in 2016. Speaking on the new episode, Kim said she had worn both her rings to an event at Madison Square Garden with jewelerLorraine Schwartzand showed the pair off in an Instagram video.

“Kanye saw it and he goes, ‘Don’t you ever wear both of your rings at the same time. Are you looking to get robbed?' " she recalled.

When she went to Paris that same year, Kim said she “left my original ring that I got proposed to, which was like the most important” at home.

The 20-carat, newer ring,which was worth an estimated $4 million, was one of the several pieces of jewelry that was taken from her hotel roomwhile she was held at gunpoint during the terrifying heist. An estimated $10 million in jewels were robbed in total.

In the aftermath of the robbery,she stopped wearing flashy jewelry for several years, but in theKardashiansepisode, she told her sister Khloé she might start wearing her diamonds again — whichKhloé, 40, was totally on board for.

Kim also revealed her plan to give her engagement ring to her daughterNorth, 11. “That one, I’m gonna give to Northy, because she was with me when I got engaged and she held it after and I took a photo and she was just, like, a few months old,” she said.
