Kim Kardashian Reveals Ex Kris Humphries Only Paid for 1/5 of Her Engagement Ring — and Made Her Give It Back in Their Divorce

Kim Kardashianmight have one lingering regret fromher swift divorcefromKris Humphries.

The SKIMS founder wasfamously married to the former NBA player for just 72 daysin 2011, and on the March 13 episode ofThe Kardashians, she reflected on the engagement ring he gave her — or, more accurately, she got herself.

As she mused to her sisterKhloé Kardashian, Kim, 44, said, “I wonder what my next ring shape will be — on my last and final hoorah,” before taking a trip down memory lane to revisit each of her three engagement rings.

“Number one was a cushion cut, 14-karat," she said, referring toher four-year marriage to Damon Thomas.

Her second engagement ring, which Humphries proposed to her with, was an 18-karat emerald cut fromLorraine Schwartz, she said.

“I didn’t keep that,” she revealed. “I was pregnant with [daughter]North [West], still married to him and in order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring in my divorce,” she explained of Humphries.

The demand was made worse when Kim noted that she was the one who bought the ring. “He contributed a fifth,” she clarified.

“Jesus,” her hairstylist and friendChris Appletonsaid after hearing the story, which he called “savage.”

Schwartz — who waswith Kim and Khloé as well on their trip to Mumbai for the July 2024 Ambani wedding, which the episode documented — told Kim it was for the “best” that she got rid of the ring.

“But I would’ve loved a collection,” she admitted.

Kim — who went on to marryKanye Westandwelcome three other kidswith him after her divorce from Humphries — rarely talks about her short-lived marriage to Humphries, thoughshe did joke about giving him a callafter Khloé, 40,reunited with her ex-husbandLamar Odomearlier this season.

“Should I call Kris Humphries?” she asked her sister and momKris Jennerafter Khloé revealed she’d seen Odom, 45, recently.

“That’s what I said,” Khloé replied. “Get all the ex-husbands on here.”

In 2021, Kim admitted thatshe “felt pressured” to go throughwith her 2011 wedding to Humphries because it was going to be filmed forKeeping Up with the Kardashians.

In hindsight, she said she handled their breakup “the wrong way” — and owes him an apology.

“I was so nervous to break up with someone, I handled it totally the wrong way. I fully broke up with him in the worst way, and I couldn’t… I just didn’t know how to deal. I learned so much from it,” she added.
