It’s a miniGilmore Girlsreunion — and an unexpected one at that!
Series mainstay Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and Danny Strong’s Doyle McMaster, who joined the series in season 4, may not have shared the screen much, but the duo just reunited for a sweet selfie.
On Monday, Dec. 16, Strong, 50, shared a snapshot of himself and Graham, 57, onInstagram, revealing that the duo had crossed paths unexpectedly more than eight years after they last filmed in Stars Hollow.
“Look who I ran into last night!” the actor wrote in the caption. “It’s the uber talented @laurengraham !!!”
Plus, Strong added, Graham is “still as cool and fun as ever!!”
TheParenthoodactress also reposted the duo’s selfie on Instagram Stories, where she wrote, “So fun seeing you! xL.”

Naturally,Gilmore Girlsfans were ecstatic about the crossover, commenting things like, “Absolutely iconic,” and “DOYLE AND LORELAI.”
Others, meanwhile, pointed out the photobomber in the back of the selfie. “The person in the back ‘I must be part of this’ 🤣🤣🤣,” one person wrote. “That would be me 100%.”
Strong and Graham’s unplanned link-up comes shortly after the latter star had another — planned, this time — reunion with aGilmore Girlscharacter:Scott Patterson, a.k.a. Luke Danes.
Earlier this month, Graham and Patterson, 66,briefly returned to Stars Hollow for a nostalgic new Walmart ad.

In the 30-second spot, the stars stepped back into their iconic roles as Lorelai and Luke as Sean Gunn — who reprised his role as fan-favorite Kirk — drops off a special delivery at Luke’s Diner. Luke gifts his coffee-obsessed wife — the pair married in the show’s 2016 Netflix revival,Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life— a Keurig coffee maker to further fuel her caffeine addiction.
And, in true Luke fashion, the series heartthrob and coffee shop owner also jokes that she’s “drinking him out of business.”

Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE ahead of the ad, Graham admitted that “it’s always a little surreal” returning to Stars Hollow, “because we were back where we’ve been so many times.”
Patterson, meanwhile, raved about his on-screen love interest, telling PEOPLE, “I’ve never worked with anybody with a better skill set, more grit and just this incredible stamina among the other things that she brings with her humor and her kindness. So it was a real kick in the pants. I got to tell you.”
