On Saturday, Feb. 1, the 46-year-old image architect played it coy after being asked about his client and close friend at the Fourth Annual Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala in Los Angeles.

Roach’s red-carpet sentiment comes weeks after a source confirmed that Holland, 28, proposed to hisSpider-Mancostar at one of Zendaya’s family homes over the holidays. Another source added at the time that “everyone close to the couple knew an engagement was happening,” with Holland having been keen to pop the question “for a while.”
The engagement news came shortly after Zendayastepped out to the 2025 Golden Globeswearing a diamond ring on her lefthand ring finger. She and Holland, who first confirmed their romance back in 2021, haveopened up over the yearsabout their desire to keep their relationship private.
Elsewhere in his conversation with PEOPLE at the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala — which celebrates Black-owned businesses and their founders — Roach detailed what Black excellence means to him. “Black excellence, I mean, it’s just excellence,” he says.
“It’s just being excellent, being the best or trying to be the best at what you do or who you are and all those things,” he continues. “So yeah, it’s about being excellent, period.”

At theTeen VogueSummit on Nov. 23, Roach reflected on how “grateful” he was for his longtime client Zendaya, specifically discussing her impactful choice towear dreadlocksto the 2015 Academy Awards at 18 years old. He also spoke with PEOPLE during New York Fashion Week in September 2024 about why he “can’t” pick his favorite Zendaya look.
“I can’t say I have a favorite because they all mean so much,” he said while attending theChristian Cowan show. “We’ve been together for over a decade, and we’ve just done so many looks.”
“Now, that being said, if the universe wants to bless me with a man that’s a billionaire or very close to it, you know, my heart is open for that,” he joked. “But I just never felt like that was my calling, and that’s okay. It’s the same way like, all women don’t crave to be mothers, right? And that’s okay, so it just was never my calling.”
