Mandy Moore Shares Heartbreaking Footage of Her 'Sweet Home' Destroyed by L.A. Fire: 'Absolutely Numb'

Mandy Moore is facing a devastating loss.

TheThis Is Usstar, 40, shared an update about her “home” on Instagram amid theongoing Los Angeles wildfireson the afternoon of Wednesday, Jan. 8.

“This is Altadena. Leveled. My sweet home. I am devastated and gutted for those of us who’ve lost so much. I’m absolutely numb,” shewrote over a video showingscorched and still-burning buildings she passed while driving down the road in the northeast L.A. neighborhood.

It was not immediately clear whether Moore’s personal home was destroyed, but her community has unquestionably been devastated.

She followed her initial Stories post with anotherInstagramexpressing gratitude for her family’s safety and detailing the destruction she witnessed.

“Grateful for my family and pets getting out last night before it was too late (and endless gratitude to friends for taking us in and bringing us clothes and blankets),” she wrote. “Honestly, I’m in shock and feeling numb for all so many have lost, including my family.”

Moore had previously shared via her Instagram Stories on Wednesday that she and her family had evacuated and didn’t know if their house had survived.

“Praying for everyone in our beautiful city. So gutted for the destruction and loss. Don’t know if our place made it,” Moore wrote, alongside a photo of herself sitting with her son Ozzie.

“Grateful for the kindness of friends that we had a place to land last night. Trying to shield the kids from the immense sadness and worry I feel,” Moore continued.

The actress lives with herhusband, Taylor Goldsmith, 39, andtheir kids, August “Gus” Harrison, 3, Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett, 2, and 3-month-old Louise Everett and they are just some of the tens of thousands of people who had to evacuate their homes.

Moore had recently completed a six-year renovation of their property.

The actress oftenshared her passion for interior designand the progress on her home project on social media, including an update that it was nearly complete and just receiving its finishing touches in February 2023. Moore’s previous home in Pasadena, Calif., wasfeatured on the cover ofArchitectural Digestin 2018.

The Eaton fire that impacted Moore’s neighborhood started on Tuesday, Jan. 7. By late morning on Wednesday, it had exploded to 10,000 acres.

Eaton and other fires continue to burn across the L.A. area, and multiple people have been reported dead.

Among the more than 80,000 people who’ve been impacted are a number of famous faces.

In a harrowing video posted on TikTok, Pratt, the formerThe Hillsstar, shared that his home was among those burned down.

“Nightmare came true,” thefather of twocaptioned the video.

His wifeposted a follow-up TikTokin which she confirmed the loss of their home and thanked fans for prayers and thoughts: “Thank God we are safe … it’s just … no words.”
