The Snack Wrap is coming back!
In a new interview withGood Morning Americaon Thursday, Dec. 5, president of McDonald’s USA Joe Erlinger confirmed that the once-discontinued menu favorite will be making a return in 2025. The announcement came afterGeorge Stephanopoulosasked Erlinger on air to “reveal the secret” of the next returning menu item.
“The Snack Wrap will be back in 2025,” Erlinger said. “This has a cult following. I get so many emails into my inbox about this product. It will be back in 2025.”
“It does [have a cult following]. It really does,” he added, before clarifying that he couldn’t reveal its “exact” return date for “competitive reasons.”

The original Snack Wrap — which consisted of chicken, lettuce and shredded cheese in a tortilla, with either ranch or honey mustard — was previously discontinued in 2016. The product first hit McDonald’s menus across the country in 2006.

McDonald’s latest menu update comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) declared that adeadly E. coli outbreaktraced back to ingredients in its Quarter Pounders wasover.
Back in October, the CDC announced that one person died and multiple were hospitalized, and that — along with the FDA, USDA FSIS and other health organizations — it was looking into McDonald’s locations across multiple states. At the time, McDonald’s chief supply chain officer, Cesar Piña, said the company was “taking swift and decisive action following” the outbreak. On Tuesday, Dec. 3, the investigation was listed on the CDC’s website as “closed” — with final numbers reaching 34 hospitalizations and the 1 death across 14 states.
Now, speaking with GMA, Erlinger shared that McDonald’s “let people down,” as the outbreak was linked to raw slivered onions used in the popular sandwich “in about 900 restaurants in Colorado and surrounding states.”
Erlinger added that the company has “ongoing” work to do as it builds trust with customers and that food safety is McDonald’s “top priority.”
