Mississippi Lt. Gov. Delbert Hosemann is ready to “go back to work” after an alarming video captured him collapsing on the floor of the state Senate.

Later that day at around 6:30 p.m., Hosemann issued astatement on Xsaying that he collapsed due to dehydration, but had been feeling better.

“Thank you all for the kind words and prayers,” he said. “I was dehydrated and am feeling fine now. I am grateful for Mississippi’s phenomenal medical professionals and am ready to go back to work tomorrow. Lesson learned: Stay hydrated."

After his fall, the Senate remained in recess until 2 p.m., according toMississippi Today. They eventually continued the session.
