MLB Player Tobias Myers Marries Leah Angelillo in 'Modern Fairy Tale' Wedding (Exclusive)

MLB playerTobias Myers' wedding was a home run!

The Milwaukee Brewers pitcher tied the knot with his girlfriend of five years,Leah Angelillo, in “a true modern fairy tale” wedding ceremony with just over 100 guests on Saturday, Dec. 14, atThe Boca Ratonhotel in Boca Raton, Florida.

“Tobias and I always envisioned having an intimate wedding weekend celebration with our closest family and friends,” the bride exclusively tells PEOPLE. “We knew the resort would accommodate our out-of-town guests to enjoy the area while visiting for our wedding.”

As a Florida-native, Angelillo remembers visiting The Boca Raton (formerly The Boca Resort) with her loved ones as a child. It quickly became her dream spot for saying “I do.”

“I always imagined myself getting married there one day, as the venue reminded me of a fairy tale, with its vintage-style castle aesthetic,” she recalls.

The “romantic and timeless” wedding ceremony with “classically chic details” took place inside the luxury resort’s main ballroom, “The Cathedral.” The grand room, which was filled with live musicians, has an ornate vaulted ceiling and columns with stone detailing lining the room.

“The wedding aesthetic tastefully combines timeless romanticism and modern, chic themes with white roses and candlelight,” Angelillo says.

“The dress very much embodies my personal style, a clean and effortless look with hints of detail,” Angelillo says.

“Getting married means merging our lives, sharing responsibilities, supporting each other unconditionally through life’s challenges, and most importantly building a future together!” Angelillo says.

There was a room flip for cocktail hour, but everyone returned to the ballroom for reception.

Angelillo changed into a “classic and timeless” second bridal look. She turned heads wearing a shorter Chantilly lace wedding gown with long sleeves and a high-neckline.

Myers and Angelillo had their first dance to Calum Scott’s “Biblical.” Later in the night, everyone danced to the sounds of Good Musicians, a fusion band.

As a surprise for the guests, late-night bites of cheeseburgers and fries were available at the end of the evening.

The night before the wedding, a romantic rehearsal dinner for the couple’s immediate families and wedding party was held atPrincipessa Ristorante, an onsite Italian restaurant overlooking the waterway.

The couple plan to travel around Europe together during offseason next year, with Italy and Greece first on the list. Angelillo will continue working part-time as a nurse while Myers lives out his dream as a starting pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers.

“We are most excited to continue growing our love for each other and starting a family together one day!” Angelillo tells PEOPLE. “We love how much fun we have with each other! For us, there is never a dull moment when we are together, with endless fun activities and plans to look forward to!”
